Phase 1 of the 139th China Import and Export Fair was held in Guangzhou from April 15 to 19, 2026, under the core theme of “Advanced Manufacturing.” For Qingdao C&C and the Mingwen manufacturing base, the exhibition was more than a place to display equipment. It was a useful window into how international buyers are redefining productivity, supply-chain confidence and the value of Chinese manufacturing.
The official Phase 1 summary reported 167,000 overseas buyers from 216 countries and regions, up 5.9% from the previous session. Across all three phases, the 139th Canton Fair welcomed more than 314,000 overseas buyers from 220 countries and regions and recorded US$25.7 billion in intended on-site orders. These figures matter, but the stronger message was qualitative: buyers were not only comparing prices. They were looking for suppliers able to explain processes, manage risk and support long-term production.
At our booth, we presented two connected product lines: multi-station rotary transfer machines for integrated machining and customized automated assembly equipment for downstream production. Finished valve, fitting and industrial-component samples helped us move the discussion from machine specifications to the customer's actual manufacturing problem.
Under our strategic partnership, Mingwen serves as the equipment manufacturing base, while Qingdao C&C is Mingwen's designated export company and international business department. This structure connects application engineering and manufacturing with international communication, documentation, delivery coordination and after-sales support.
Advanced manufacturing is sometimes presented as a collection of new technologies. From a factory owner's perspective, however, it is a more practical question: can a production system deliver stable quality, predictable output and manageable operating costs over time?
That is why the most useful conversations at the fair began with drawings, samples, bottlenecks and target capacity. Buyers wanted to know how multiple operations could be combined, how operator dependence could be reduced, how quality could be verified and how a supplier would respond when products or production plans changed.
Our conclusion is that the market is moving from “buying a machine” to “designing a production result.” Spindle power, axis travel and controller brands still matter, but they are only part of the decision. Fixture repeatability, tool access, process sequence, feeding, inspection, maintenance and training determine whether the promised capacity can actually be achieved.
A finished workpiece can often explain more than a long list of specifications. It reveals the material, process route, surface requirements and application. At our booth, machined samples made it easier to discuss which holes, threads and sealing faces could be completed in one cycle and which features required special control.
For equipment suppliers, this means product marketing must be backed by process knowledge. The right first response is not always a machine model. It is a set of technical questions about the part, tolerance, blank condition, volume and acceptance standard.
Many factories have improved machining efficiency only to discover that manual assembly, testing or material handling has become the next bottleneck. The investment question is therefore expanding from cycle time at one machine to flow across the production line.
This is particularly relevant for valves, fittings, faucets, manifolds and gas-appliance components. Their production may include drilling, tapping and sealing-surface machining, followed by O-ring installation, pressing, screwdriving, marking, leak testing and final inspection. Treating these stages as one manufacturing chain helps avoid isolated improvements that simply move the bottleneck downstream.
For an overseas customer, technical performance cannot be separated from communication and support. Drawings must be understood correctly, responsibilities must be clear, acceptance criteria must be agreed before manufacturing, and installation and training must be planned early.
This is one reason for the Qingdao C&C–Mingwen cooperation model. Mingwen concentrates on equipment design, manufacturing and process validation; Qingdao C&C acts as the international business department, keeping commercial and technical communication connected throughout the project.
Component samples turn a general inquiry into a discussion about tolerances, process sequence and target output.
Our CNC rotary transfer machines are developed for stable, high-volume components that require multiple machining operations. A workpiece is clamped and indexed through coordinated stations that may perform drilling, boring, tapping, turning or milling. When the application is suitable, combining operations can reduce repeated loading, work-in-process inventory and positioning variation between separate machines.
Our automated assembly machines address the next stage. Depending on the product, a customized system may integrate feeding, orientation, pressing, screwdriving, seal installation, marking, presence detection, functional testing and finished-part transfer. Automation is not a secondary product line for us; it is an important growth direction because customers increasingly need continuity between machining, assembly and quality verification.
The right level of automation is not necessarily the highest possible level. It is the level that matches product stability, volume, labor conditions, maintenance capability and investment return. A flexible semi-automatic station may be the correct first step for one factory, while a connected automatic line may be justified for another.
The 139th Canton Fair showed that confidence in manufacturing is built through openness and specificity. Global buyers still value China's complete industrial chain, but they expect more from suppliers: clearer engineering logic, more transparent project management and stronger lifecycle support.
For us, the next stage of international growth is not simply to show more machines. It is to become better at translating a customer's component and business target into a practical production plan. That requires us to keep strengthening machining expertise, assembly automation, testing integration and export service at the same time.
