FEIMEC 2026 took place at São Paulo Expo from May 5 to 9, marking both its fifth edition and ten years as a major meeting point for Latin America's machinery and equipment industry. The official post-show report recorded more than 70,000 visitors, over 1,100 exhibiting brands and professionals from more than 40 countries.

The scale was impressive, but the quality of the audience was the more important signal. The official FEIMEC review noted that exhibitors met visitors with concrete projects and more mature investment decisions. That matches the broader theme we took from the exhibition: Brazilian manufacturers are not considering automation as a symbol of modernization. They are asking how it will improve productivity, quality and competitiveness in measurable terms.

At Booth A139, Mingwen demonstrated compact assembly automation and introduced rotary transfer machining solutions. Qingdao C&C participated as Mingwen's designated export company and international business department. Our purpose was not to present two disconnected product categories, but to discuss how machining, assembly, inspection and testing can form a more efficient production flow.

What FEIMEC Revealed About Industrial Investment

Brazil has a large and diverse industrial base, including metalworking, automotive, electrical equipment, agricultural machinery, pumps, compressors and fluid-control products. This diversity creates demand for automation, but it also makes flexibility essential.

A factory may need higher output today while remaining uncertain about future product mix. It may face labor constraints but still need experienced operators for changeovers and quality decisions. It may want better traceability but not need a complex data architecture across every process.

The correct question is therefore not “How much automation can we install?” It is “Which automation removes the most costly source of variation or delay?” This changes the investment discussion. Instead of beginning with equipment, the team begins with the bottleneck, defect risk, labor content and expected product life.

Four Customer Priorities That Deserve More Attention

Return must be linked to the complete process

Cycle time is important, but return on investment also depends on uptime, scrap, work-in-process inventory, labor allocation, floor space and changeover. A useful proposal should explain which of these factors will improve and what assumptions are being used.

Flexibility must be designed, not promised

“Flexible automation” can mean different things. It may involve interchangeable fixtures, recipe control, adjustable feeding, modular inspection or space for a future station. Each feature adds cost and complexity, so flexibility should be tied to realistic product families rather than an undefined future need.

Quality control should be part of the sequence

Inspection at the end of a line can identify defects, but it may not prevent value from being added to a bad component. Sensors, presence checks, torque monitoring, dimensional checks or leak testing are most useful when placed at the point where the relevant risk is created.

Local support expectations must be discussed early

For international projects, customers need clarity about installation, training, remote support, spare parts and response procedures. These are not administrative details. They influence how quickly a factory can recover and how confident management can be in the investment.

How Our Two Product Lines Support This Direction

Our CNC rotary transfer machines are intended for stable, high-volume components that require several machining operations. By indexing a clamped workpiece through coordinated stations, a system may combine drilling, boring, tapping, turning and milling while reducing repeated loading between standalone machines.

Our automated assembly machines are engineered around the customer's bill of materials and process. A system may include feeding, orientation, pressing, screwdriving, seal installation, marking, inspection, testing and transfer. The demonstration at FEIMEC helped show that automation is a sequence of controlled decisions, not simply a robot moving parts.

We consider assembly automation a major growth area for our company. As customers improve upstream machining, repetitive downstream processes increasingly determine final throughput and quality. Linking the two also creates better opportunities for traceability and line balancing.

Our Post-Show Reflection: Mature Buyers Expect Mature Proposals

FEIMEC's strong attendance and business activity show that industrial modernization remains a strategic priority in Brazil and Latin America. At the same time, manufacturers are more disciplined about investment. They expect suppliers to understand the application, quantify trade-offs and explain how the line will be supported.

This is a positive development. It rewards engineering depth over generic promotion. It also encourages suppliers to be honest when a simpler solution, staged investment or semi-automatic process is more suitable than a fully automatic line.
